Award fever

Well, AL of Caramel Macchiato has presented me with my first award, and some rules to go along with it. It is absolutely lovely to be nominated, and I find I am more than willing to go along with any of the rules myself, but I feel reluctant to pull any unwilling blogger into the fray. Here are the rules as they are written on AL's blog:

(1) Thank the person who nominated you for this award.

(2) Copy the logo and place it on your blog.

(3) Link to the person who nominated you for this award.

(4) Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.

(5) Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.

(6) Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.

(7) Leave a comment on each of the blogs, letting them know they have been nominated.

The first is really easy: thank you, AL! The fact that being creative in my blogging has prompted you to give me this award is especially appreciated. As any of you might have noticed, I try to following what I consider to be the cardinal rules of a good blog: brief and to the point, interesting (i.e., not boring), with (if possible) some eye candy.

Second and third, I will put the logo in the appropriate place and link it as instructed. And, being rather extroverted myself, I can easily think of seven things you MIGHT find interesting about me: (1) I used to be a hippie; (2) I've camped in the wilderness for up to a week by myself; (3) I have a glass of wine or a beer almost every night; (4) I go out of my way to make straight lines on the bedspread; (5) I was fluent in Spanish when I was three; (6) I got pregnant the first time I had sex; and (7) I have been to China 6 times.

Now to the last three. I am reluctant to nominate someone to actually do any of these things if they are not willing, so I will change it just a little: please send me a comment if you feel that you are a Kreativ Blogger and are willing to take this on. There is not one person who is on my extended bloglist (21 of them) who does not deserve this award. I suspect that you will be a follower of mine if you respond, but if not, send me the link to your blog so I can be sure you are indeed Kreativ!
:-)

  1. Chicamom, you have such a lovely doggie blog. May I nominate you for a Kreative Blogger award? If you say yes, then... You are Number One!

  2. Congratulations DJan, and thank you for accepting the award.

Honestly, I have no plans of passing the awards to others because of the amount of time it will consume posting it. I even published it without linking anybody, but I felt guilty afterwards knowing that there are so many creative bloggers to be recognize. Anyway I thank you again.

You can camp in the wilderness only by yourself? You beated me with, yes I camp in the wilderness but with company. Gees you're such a brave one!

  3. Congrats on your award and for sharing some very interesting tidbits about yourself. I'm impressed! A week by yourself? The very first time?

I would take the award but am much to lazy to do all the work required. Thanks anyway!

  5. Well! I guess I didn't realize that by accepting the award I didn't need to follow the rules exactly. In that case, I nominate Star-Crossed (Linda), Life in the Second Half (Nancy), Star, Sassy Sasha (chicamom), Bones of the Sky, and MzzLily for blahwg! So there!! I love ALL of those blogs so much and read them whenever they show up on my Google Reader. Does anyone else use that useful tool?

  6. Well, your first award! Didn't I send you one earlier on? I thought I did. Oh well, I meant to, sorry. You are an interesting person Djan and you deserve this award and many more.
    Blessings, Star

  7. I picked up that you have been to China 6 times – I’d like to read posts on these trips. Where they for business or pleasure? I worked with trainees from China for 3 months once and they were so nice. They cooked wonderful dinners which were not at all like you eat in the Chinese restaurants around here – they thought we used too much sugar.

I really appreciate your comments! If you see a word verification box here, just ignore it. I don't use the darn thing and Blogger is trying to get us to use it, I guess. Ignore it and your comment will still appear.
