What makes you smile?

My front porch flowers
Yes, these pretty flowers do make me smile. I'm learning that it's worthwhile to try to find ways to laugh and smile more often. When I wrote that last post about Yogi Berra, several people pointed me to some other quotes of his. I have been laughing out loud about this one:
"I don't know if they were men or women fans running naked across the field. They had bags over their heads."
This was in the days when people would streak naked across fields to make statements. I really wonder whether he really didn't know, or whether he just wanted to make people laugh. It's a well-known fact that laughing is good for the soul. So, I wanted to ask my readers what makes YOU laugh?
:-)

  2. I smile or chuckle more than I laugh. I would like more reasons to laugh, and I do try to laugh at myself.

  3. Love your flowers. I am a smiler rather than a laugher, but there is LOTS to make me smile. Mostly things in the natural world. And kindness.

  4. Those are beautiful flowers that will give much joy. I love flowers, but our yard just doesn't seem to grow them well. That said, my geraniums are blooming their hearts out, and they are old plants.

  5. I like humor that is distant and you have to work for it. It makes me chuckle when I get it.

  7. Comments by young children; witty comedians. Actually there is only one comedian that can make me laugh and he is Peter Kaye. More of a smiler I suppose than a LOL.

  10. I smile and chuckle very easily. When I laugh out loud is the best but it takes a real and surprising wit to bring that out.

  11. Being with my grandkids makes me laugh and when home alone and down, DVD's From a Canadian program called "Corner Gas"brings back the giggles.

  12. Comedies, jokes, little kids' antics or innocent thoughts, cartoons (the old ones of our generation), comics, kittens & puppies playing, this crazy country of ours and politicians (I have no party preference any more...both sides are a JOKE...gotta laugh at 'em. Can't cry, as much as I could).

Yep, laughter is good. No sense being sour against the world. Life's too short.

LOVE YOUR GORGEOUS PORCH D J!!

  13. Yogi had a lot of good ones. My favorite, speaking of a restaurant: "No one goes there anymore; it's too crowded."

  15. Not much makes me laugh out loud these days. My brother (who passed in 2000) used to make me laugh so hard tears would run down my face. I do miss that. Sometimes my daughter and I laugh over silly things. But my grandchildren and my cats do make me smile.

  16. Your flowers and blog posts most always make me smile! You brighten up my day. Far Guy is in the hospital, respiratory distress and Acute Bronchitis. He is slightly better today...it is a slow go. I am on antibiotics and so far am staying out of the hospital except when visiting. I am home this afternoon for a much needed nap. :) Hope you keep smiling!
