And for those of you who would like to watch a funny Christmas spoof of Downton Abbey, there are two parts to a Christmas Text Santa spoof, with George Clooney a delightful addition. Here's the first part:
Clooney plays the part of Lord Hollywood, and I laughed to hear his broad American accent in the midst of all those upper crust British ones. Here's Part Two:
I hope you enjoy the Text Santa spoofs with Lord Hollywood as much as I did. I am looking forward to another season of high drama, with the soap opera aspect still very much alive in Season 5!
:-)
i've never seen an episode. i know i'm missing out. :)
ReplyDeleteDJan, I've been re-watching Season 4 for a while now and am more than ready for the Season 5 to start this Sunday. I love watching it... (don't know why really, but find it fascinating - the clothes and the scenery I imagine).
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the Text Santa spoofs too but don't like to see the originals out of character... (as Sheldon says in *The Big Bang* - "it's just wrong".
I think it is all on Netflix, I should watch! Enjoy! It sounds like a well loved series:)
ReplyDeleteNever seen it. I probably should get around to it one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI've got my calendar marked, pot of tea at the ready, and unplugged from the world...lol
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for season 5
~Jo
Add me to the list of people who have never seen it. I suspect we are forming a small (and getting smaller) club.
ReplyDeleteYep, we're fans too ... can't wait.
ReplyDeleteWell, that was fun!
ReplyDeleteWe'll be recording Downton since we have so many other favorite shows to watch on Sunday. that will give us something good to watch on another night.
You too eh?
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I missed this. My daughter loves it. One of these days I'm going to have to sit on my butt and watch movies.
ReplyDeleteThe text Santa was funny and I did enjoy it. We are on the same page with Downton Abbey, one of my fav's. We are finally in the winter mode as of 1:00a.m. this morning. A severe winter storm has moved into our mild and warm area. WE did have a balmy December and I really do not mind the snow and dear olde Mother Nature is givin' us real force today. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year DJan! Hope this is an awesome year for you and yours. xo CG
ReplyDeleteOMG the Downton Abbey spoof is hilarious! Had not seen this.
Deleteove Downton Abbey and look forward to this season!
ReplyDeleteThat's 'sposed to be LOVE not ove!
ReplyDeleteI love Downton Abbey and hope you enjoy series 5.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch TV very often, but I'll tell David to keep an eye out for this series.
ReplyDeleteI had seen this charity spoof and it is absolutely hysterical! Anxiously awaiting season five. :)
ReplyDeleteI have tried a couple of times but I don't know the back story so it is just too hard to figure out every ones role. Wish I had started in the beginning for it is really popular for a reason. Enjoy this season, you will have a ton of company.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll enjoy the episodes DJan. I have seen them all, but I won't spoil it for you. We had some wonderful dramas last year. Look out for Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax and Broadchurch. What can I look out for? My friend gave me a copy of Homeland, which I'm looking forward to seeing.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched Downton Abbey but I loved watching these spoofs. What fun!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I just saw the Christmas episode 10 days ago and now the season in starting in the US! It seems odd to be ahead for once...
ReplyDeleteI introduced a friend of mine to the series last week, thank goodness for subtitles on the dads as she had trouble understanding the accents! But loved it so I've created a new addict! :D
Enjoy the 5th season! Hijinks and good times galore, with a healthy dose of drama. ;o)
Never watched it. I'm sure I'm missing a good one.
