My friend Judy comes through

Judy toasting me with a birthday beer
This picture was taken awhile ago, two years and a bit more, when we went out to Boundary Bay for dinner and our favorite dark beer, the oatmeal stout. Judy and I have been hanging out together for almost a decade now, and I keep forgetting how much I appreciate her until I don't get to see her very much.

Her husband has been ill, and she's been unable to get out and around as much as she was. I see her occasionally at the Y, but we don't go out to eat much any more. We still make an effort to celebrate our birthdays twice a year. His illness is gradually getting better, and that's a good thing.

I asked her last week if she would be willing to attend a yoga class with me during Yoga Northwest's "free" week, happening right now. It's the week between semesters when the yoga studio offers free classes at all levels, but those who are already students, like me, need to bring a guest in order to attend the class, unless I want to try the next level up. Not likely. Judy went with me to my regular class today and before we left, she had signed up to take next semester's class! So I'll be seeing her at least once a week in class, and I suspect that will lead to more time together.

And gosh, it's really beginning to look like spring around here, even if it's still a bit on the wet side. That should change soon, I'm hoping.
:-)

  11. Isn't that just great. It is so easy for time to slip by without seeing friends. Enjoy your yoga.
