I'm on a roll

Rolling, rolling rolling out that hip
I was able to do the entire five-mile walk with the ladies this morning, in the rain (of course) and with some hip pain, but this is the first time since it seized up on me more than a month ago that I have been able to do the entire walk. Last week I made one loop of the lake and skipped the second, and I almost turned back at one point today because the hip began hurting. Instead, I stopped long enough to put my leg up on a fence and stretch it for a bit and then continued on. And then upon arriving home, I used this roller on both hips, front and back, for about fifteen minutes, and now I'm feeling great!
Little Miss Cabbage
We met right next to the Farmers' Market, since this is Opening Day for the 2017 season (it starts the first Saturday in April), and this young lady was chosen to catch that waiting cabbage, tossed to her by the mayor of Bellingham. Love her outfit and boots! I didn't wait around for the actual toss, as I was more interested in snagging some goodies from the stalls, which opened right at 10:00am.
It was crowded this morning
Although there was still some light rain, many people turned out for Opening Day, and we enjoyed some tasty treats and then headed home. Once I got home and started my rolling activity, I asked SG to take my picture, since it was a perfect segue into today's timely title.

  1. Hope you find relief with the roller. Some people find it painful to use. But if it helps you, go for it :-)

I wonder how "Little Miss Cabbage Catcher" looks on a resume.

  6. It's surprising what can be done with good exercises. The key word here is good. not just any exercise.

  13. I love the photo below of the group hiking up to the Mt. Erie summit. I have one of those rollers. I had better luck with my old racket balls though. To really get into those tight muscles.
