Now, we find some time around our kitchen table with all the available information and our ballots and work together to make our choices. It’s not quite the same feeling, with today being Voting Day, and we’re all done. But it’s something we never shirk. The only thing I can do, other than give money to candidates we believe in, is VOTE. I hope you dear friends here in the US won’t forget to vote.
It’s a privilege and a right not to be dismissed. That’s my belief, anyway. In any event, have a wonderful day!

Our federal election was some weeks back. I voted in advance.

I agree. Tom and I do the same, filling out our ballots together at the kitchen table. Our ballots are in the mail in plenty of time to be counted. Then my daughter, who is a busy single parent, asked for my marked up voter's guide for recommendations for how to vote, after she has read all of the information. We are a family that votes.

In Texas we have "early voting". I too think it's a must.

ReplyDeleteKudos for keeping your vote active. I have only missed one election in 59 years and so I understand your zeal. The one I missed was a primary run off for supervisor of elections, I had the flu and it was pouring rain. Would have loved voting by mail and hope we go that way someday.
ReplyDeleteNow that I have to vote by mail I am enjoying the fact that I can research candidates online and take my time. I think it has made me a better voter. :)

ReplyDeleteWe always, always vote too. We signed up for mail-in ballots once we moved to Hawaii and it's fabulous. I love being able to research and vote without pressure.
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS vote! Sadly, I regret my choice for president this time around, but 2020 is just around the corner and I can exercise my right to put forth a change--badly needed at this point in time!
