My yoga teacher and more

Erica getting ready to launch that leg forward
I asked my yoga teacher, Erica, if she would demonstrate for me how one is supposed to get one's leg in a forward lunge while doing the sun salutation. I simply cannot get it back far enough to manage to get it forward between my hands. But of course she does it without any problem. One day I'll do it, but it's gonna be awhile. For now, I can get it to land somewhere in the vicinity, and then I sneak it forward with my toes. One day.

In the meantime, I've been trying to figure out how to get around an annoying aspect of Blogger. Since last Friday, I have stopped receiving email notifications when somebody comments on one of my blogs. Nothing. Nada. So if I want to read or react to a comment, I must visit the latest post and see who's commented. I got on the blogger help forum and discovered this seems to be universal. But nothing from Blogger to suggest when (or if) it might be fixed. One person suggested the following:
I've learned a short-term (hopefully) fix for this. When writing a blog post, leave yourself a comment at the end and check the box that says "email follow-up notifications". You'll then receive notification of any comments that come after. If you like to respond to comments, you might notice that commenters come across as "no-reply" even when they aren't. You can click on the name of the commenter to come up with an email if one is available. Then, copy and paste into your response.
So, once I finish this post, I'll leave myself a comment and see if this works. It sure would make it easier, but it won't do anything for earlier posts. Grrr!

  1. Here's my attempt to receive an email notification when one leaves a message.

  2. I've never activated the email notifications, I just check the posts for some days (and after some days forget to do so, so it might be a year or more before I come back to that post).

That yoga pose reminds me that I'll have to photograph yoga on the front lawn of Parliament over the summer. They might well have started for this year.

  3. Thank you for addressing this Blogger issue. I was all over the site trying to find a fix and failed. It is very annoying not to receive comments via email. I didn't know the problem was universal.

  4. I have been bummed most of the day and found the same site as you. Email notification was a tool I used and needed. Hope the temporary fix works. Think we have to do it with every post. We will see. Grrrr.

  7. I have discovered that you don't need to leave yourself a comment. Just tick the notify me box.
Sigh. And hopefully blogger will deign to fix it for us.
I am as flexible as a brick and awed by your youga teacher.

  9. I wasn't that agile when I was young and "agile"--LOL!
Thanks for the blogger info. I might try ticking the box and/or leaving a comment on my own posts. I hope one can write back easily, though, without having to search through all their info to find an email address. I'll try it for sure! :)

  13. I am also stumped about getting my foot forward far enough. I couldn't do it even 15 years ago! I don't have much hope that I'll learn it, but I still like Sun Salutation.

  15. I saw this on Christine’s blog and since you’ve written about it too, looks like everybody’s got that problem. I’ve scheduled posts until the middle of next week and I’ll be taking a month’s hiatus because it’s hard for me to type with one arm in a sling and really hurting like the dickens. Hopefully, it will all be fixed when I return.

I really appreciate your comments! If you see a word verification box here, just ignore it. I don't use the darn thing and Blogger is trying to get us to use it, I guess. Ignore it and your comment will still appear.
