From Astronomy Picture of the Day 3 Nov 14 |
I am grateful for many things, but none of them would be possible if I didn't live on this beautiful planet. The above picture was taken in northern Norway last March. I am also grateful for the people who take such photos and share them. The internet has truly changed my life, enriching it in ways I could never have imagined a few years ago.
Today there is no hike, so I am home with Smart Guy cooking up a Thanksgiving feast. I'm making a couple of things to honor my mother in particular, and my family of origin in general. I wish I were with them today. Holidays often do this to me: make me nostalgic for times gone by. I hope you have a truly wonderful day, whether in this country or elsewhere. Blessings from the Pacific Northwest.
:-)
i'm nostalgic and missing home/family, too. but the sun is shining, my dogs and horses are happy and doing well, the whistlers are around, and i am grateful for many things. i, too, am glad to 'know' so many people around the world. thanks for being one of them. :)

ReplyDeleteI do hope you two had a glorious day together.
Tho I've complained many times, I too am thankful for this glorious world we call ours. It's phenomenal.
This world of ours tends to amaze me every day. Thank you for your blessings and right back at you kiddo. As I am looking at this beautiful photo, I see a person on the top with outstretched arms. Dat You DJan?
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to start your day and thanks for sharing it with us. I'm with you in gratitude for the earth mother who sustains us and for the enriching of the webworld. I'm grateful, too, for you in my life now.
ReplyDeleteSuch a joy to have all of us sharing our Thanksgiving thoughts. We kids were all off to other places, so we got together with our neighbors and had a lovely dinner and a game of six handed Canasta. I will have them all in the area for Christmas. Lots to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And hope your Thanksgiving was grand!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your holiday at home. I've come to realize that it's all a memory that we are making, each and every day, so I try to make them special so we can treasure the memories when we can no longer participate in the activities.
ReplyDeleteThat is truly a breathtaking photo and I am, also, so glad people share amazing pictures online. The internet has opened the world in such a way we could never have imagined growing up. I hope you had a sweet Thanksgiving just the two of you. :) :)

ReplyDeleteI'm single mindedly trying to work on our trip photo album now. I can't wait to be done so I can visit again.
We're celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow so I'll be busy today after I return from Black Saturday.
Happy holidays. DJan!
