Russ and Sofia Stewart (photo by Megan Patterson) |
I met Russ during my visit to Texas for Thanksgiving, as well as to celebrate both of our birthdays, Fia turning fifty and me turning seventy. I liked him the minute I laid eyes on him. I think they will be very happy together. I can't tell you how happy it makes ME to know that Fia is beginning this new segment of her life. They will be traveling to Canada to visit our sister Markee's family and staying in Banff for their honeymoon.
Facebook gave me the photo above, which I snagged from Megan's page (Fia's daughter), and I studied all the pictures to bask in the happiness that flows from every shot. Their "Order of Ceremony" was very straightforward and made me smile:
I also snagged this from Megan's Facebook page. I wasn't sure whether my sister Markee would be there, but I saw a picture of her and realized that of course she wouldn't miss this! I know my brother was there, and I've sent a gift certificate to the Rimrock Resort Spa in Banff that I truly hope Fia will enjoy. Say what you want about Facebook, but it sure keeps those of us who cannot actually be there feeling like we're part of the experience. Blessings to the new couple!
:-)
What a happy occasion! Congratulations to all!!!
ReplyDeleteSOOO sweet! bless them both! loved their 'order'. :) may their life together go as smoothly and simply!
ReplyDeleteI love weddings and always find myself weeping. I even teared up at my own wedding. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI love stories like this. Love is love, regardless of when you experience it. Yay for them!
ReplyDeleteI love the Order of Ceremony, that's the way to have a wedding.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the happy couple.
How simply lovely. And, like everyone else I love that Oder of Ceremony. All the important things, none of the fuss...
ReplyDeleteWow. They look very happy and he looks like a good soul. I Love the Order of Ceremony!
ReplyDeleteyay! congratulations to your sister...that is awesome...i wish them all the best in their new life together...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to this sweet couple.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that they are happy together.
I wish them the best!!
I agree about Facebook. Keeping in touch with family is why I got involved with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your sister has found happiness. If your like her man, he must be a good guy.
I love seeing happy people. Congrats to them!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I've ever mentioned,
Stewart is also a family name in my family tree. My grandmother's maiden name was Stewart. The only one to actually carry the Stewart name in my lifetime was my "Great Grandma Stewart" which is what we called her all our lives. She had three surviving daughters, they all took different names when they married, so that was it as far as Stewarts went in our line.
How lovely they have found each other.
ReplyDeleteDear DJan - I love this story and my best congratulations to the couple. What a lovely photo you grabbed and this is the kind of story that grabs your heart, Eh. I loved the "Order of Ceremony" and showed it to my friend who will marry in just 9 days, with a very familiar story to your sweet sister's - I am asking your permission to give her the "Order of Ceremony" photo for her to print and use at their field party - please just send me aa quick email if you don't mind, and let me know. Thanks DJan and have a wonderful day - I had one yesterday :)lol
ReplyDeleteSounds like destiny for them to meet. Congrats to them.
ReplyDeleteMy best wishes to the happy couple and congratulations on the beginning of a new marriage. I love "love the second time around" stories.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the new couple. They certainly have your support. Support from family and friends goes a long way to making people happy.
Must have been a good day for a wedding! I wish them much happiness! Too bad you couldn't go. Yes Facebook is good for somethings:)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely for your sister to meet this great guy. I am sure it fills you with happiness for her. Congratulations to them and all the family – it is such a happy occasion when two loving people can be together.
ReplyDeleteI also looked at your last post with envy – you walk in such beauty DJan.
So wonderful to have a fresh start in life with a great partner! Congrats to the happy couple. And they do look very happy. :)
ReplyDeleteHi DJan! This is your sister Markee. It was the most moving ceremonies I've witnessed. The love and joy in their faces was so obvious - it just shone throughout. After the short but moving ceremony, the bridal pair began dancing to love shack and danced back down the aisle. Hope that someone posts the video of that!
ReplyDeleteThey look happy, and I'm glad you were able to share in some of the day via Facebook.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the happy couple. How sweet that love can come and fill our lives, if a bit late sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThe order of the ceremony was perfect.
Congratulations to the beautiful couple. I love what Markee had to say about them dancing down the aisle - what a wonderful way to start a life together.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story! Love goes well with any name!
ReplyDeleteYour sister looks very lovely, and also quite happy. I'm glad you like her new groom. I wish them the very best.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt married a man who had the same last name as her maiden name, so she never had to change her name. That is quite cool.
I love happy endings...and I hope "Fia's" life with Russ is a true romance fairy tale with good things, and happy endings after a long, long, life together.

Dear DJan, how wonderful for your sister--a Stewart once and always! I'm not a fan of Facebook because I really don't understand how to use it and I get befuddled by it. Just the other day, I finally learned what the "wall" is! But I'm so glad that Facebook helped you rejoice with your youngest sister. Peace.
ReplyDeleteI hate facebook. Because I'm not lucky enough to get real interactions and comments. Just "likes". Yawn. But that being said I reconnected with my 3 close high school chums through facebook. And we all got together after 27 years this weekend! So it has its highs and lows.
ReplyDeletea most beautiful and happy joining.
ReplyDeleteso happy for this couple.
Awww that is so very lovely. Congrats to your sister. It's heartwarming when someone finds true happiness. I love the order of ceremony events.. too funny.
