Taken last Saturday |
These beautiful flowers were captured last Saturday, looking so pretty. I wonder what they look like today, three days later. Certainly not as gorgeous as they were then, seemingly right at the top of their game. Everything changes, it's what happens in our dailly lives, but captures like this one often make me want to stop the clock.
This is the last day of the month, as well as the end of the third quarter of the year. October begins the final quarter, the beginning of the spooky time, along with my birthday, Christmas, and the New Year. Advent calendars are not too far away; I love them and look forward to this favorite activity.
This morning was rather chaotic, since yesterday SG got his tooth pulled and he woke to find his mouth was still bleeding. He got up out of bed to clean things up, which meant I did, too, just a little earlier than usual. So much of my worries were for nothing, as he is now in recovery mode and doing far better than I did when I had a tooth pulled a few years ago. I needed nitrous oxide and drugs to make it through, but he did it "cold turkey." I am so glad it's behind us now, and he just needs to heal so they can construct that permanent bridge. It's a long process but then he will be good as new (ha!) and will have spent a fortune. Nothing is getting any cheaper, and we will begin to see the effects of inflation during the next few months, I expect. But he's been through the worst of it, painwise and moneywise. I wish I was as strong a person as he is, but I am just glad he's around to support me in my own travails. We make a pretty good team.
I hope the nice weather we're having stays around for awhile. I enjoyed my walk to the bus today and my walk afterwards, getting in my 10,000 steps and enjoying the company of my friend John at the coffee shop. Life is feeling good right now, so I will finish this post and be grateful for all my blessings.

Teeth extraction can be horrible I sure hope Smart Guy is better soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had an UP day, DJan. The flowers are beautiful and it's so awesome that you and your wonderful, Smart Guy are such a wonderful support for each other. But ouch on the tooth pulling. I'm dreading when that day will probably come for me too.
