Playing with the templates

Wow! I am busy playing with all the templates for the new Blogger in Draft! Back soon, but I think they have a winner with the new template designs.

So far, it seems you can control the width and number of your columns, although I think I will have to resize my banner to make it stretch all the way across the new page. What do you think of this new feature? (I do like the birds flying out from the side of my too-narrow banner, though.)
:-)

  2. I do like the color, and using the whole page. I haven't really played around with this. I just went in and changed the text size. Now I'm not even sure how I got there!

  3. I kind of like it...
I'm afraid to play with the templates just yet. I haven't had time to post lately; I certainly don't have time to fix whatever I mess up! I do want to browse the template options, though. Maybe later when the kids are napping (if they will cooperate and nap at the same time)!

  6. The more control over the look the better. My old layout was so narrow it drove me crazy, and I switched to the new look about 6 months ago and love it. I like the wider layouts so you can fit more in there. Narrow ones have so much wasted space. But, it took my nerd husband to figure out how to stretch my banner too, but your birds flying around to the right are pretty cool. tough call...

  7. Very cool! I've so wished blogger would get creative. That's half the fun of blogging, playing with the layouts. I'm definitely going to look into this further.

Now, tell me what to do about adapting the header.

  9. I like it, the birds flying out of the header are a great addition. I love that header photo. The lavender color is a really nice change. I keep trying to come up with a new color for The Road but I can't find one I like.

The width of the columns are easy to change if you don't mind playing around in HTML.

  10. I made it!

    phew!

but I'm afraid my brain is all fuzzy from a couple of hours reading all about someone's very interesting life... so I'm just going to sign up to follow and I'll come poke around tomorrow.

Hey! It's midnight! Makes me feel like Cinderella rushing away from the ball! :p

And I like the lavender! A colour I never seem willing to try out, but always happy when I see it. ;o)

  12. Your post made me laugh because RIGHT before I sat down to read others' blogs, I found the Blogger in draft and changed my blog!!!
It is so fun to play with things..I may change it now and then using their templates so I don't get bored! I like your changes too.

  13. I like your new look. I have tried working with it, but I can't settle on one background yet. I haven't figure out how to stretch the header. Let me know if you find out. I'm not sure if it is done in the layout/template or if I need to resize my photo myself.

  14. I will have to check it out..perhaps I have been stuck in a time warp as I have had the same template since I began back in 2008..uffda..
To change that header..you go into the Layout and then click on HTML it is Header Wrapper that you need to change..try about a 750 Px I think..write the number down! I have found that I have to change my HTML in IExplorer..it won't convert for me in Google Chrome. Now I need to catch up!! I like this template..it is easy to read and the birds are pretty cool:)

  15. I don't think the header looks too small... It leaves room for your feathered friends! Very appropriate for the bird-watcher.

  16. how do I do it all?

    hehehe... PROCRASTINATION!!!

Blogger is my current Achilles heel... I just get sucked in without realising it! But those who have been following me since last Spring could tell you I've been writing a lot less since the Fall... real life is finally managing to get in the way.

How do I manage this and a job? Because at the moment I don't really have one! I'm working part time giving private English lessons and the rest of the time I'm writing up (or supposed to be) my PhD thesis. Last Fall I was teaching at a University in Belgium and my posting was extremely rare because teaching and preparing classes just kept getting in the way of all the posts I wanted to write about life in Belgium. Sigh!

When I disappear from the blog it's either a good thing 'cause I'm concentrated on thesis work, or a bad thing 'cause I'm so down and low I can't even be bothered to blog. :s

As for the pages... well I had some of that stuff written in my profile and side columns, but the rest just came as I was writing... I had actually meant to just set up the tabs and come back to them at a later date, but they took on a life of their own! :p

I really appreciate your comments! If you see a word verification box here, just ignore it. I don't use the darn thing and Blogger is trying to get us to use it, I guess. Ignore it and your comment will still appear.
