Truncated walk with the ladies

Post-walk coffee at Adagio's
I decided to try to walk with the ladies this morning, since we were to meet at Adagio's Coffee Shop and walk to Zuanich Park at the bay and back, a short five-mile walk. I felt pretty good as we started out, but after less than a mile, I could feel that now familiar pain returning to my right hip. Since I don't yet have an I-T strap to see if it helps, I decided to turn around and wait for them to return. Why mess up what I hope is a slow recovery?

The morning started out sunny (yay!) but by the time they had returned to the coffee shop, it was snowing! We had a little bit of everything. I also noticed that Cindy's pretty red hat gave a very nice display of our snowflakes.
Red jewels
No, not real jewels, but melted snowflakes on her delightful Icelandic hat! I had just told her about a Netflix movie I watched, "Rams," about a couple of Icelandic brothers. The movie is beautifully filmed and written but I'm not sure I could recommend it, since it doesn't have exactly a happy ending. I learned a lot about sheep diseases, though.

  1. Sheep diseases? Not a movie topic for me.
I am sorry that your walk was curtailed by pain - and proud of you for stopping. Hugs.

  2. Good idea to stop and head back. Slow and steady...

  3. I'm sorry you are still feeling sore. Perhaps more rest will do the trick.

  4. I know you are itching to get back to your routine but you need to finish healing first.

I think I'm going to pass on that Netflix movie this time! ;-)

  5. Well, on mile is better than nothing. Are there things you can do that don't involve the hip?

  6. Sheep diseases, I would probably like it! I am sorry your hip is not better...perhaps a visit to a Real Doctor should be in the plan? I want you to get all better real soon :)

  7. Don't think I'll watch that movie, but thanks.
No snow here. We walked 4.5 miles on the Des Moines Creek Trial this morning. It was cold but mostly clear. We even worked outside for a couple of hours this afternoon.
Have you asked for a medical opinion of your injury?

  9. I'm glad you listened to your body and didn't push yourself. Cute hat! I watched Rams!! What a crazy movie! Swedes in my family, as you know. I could relate to the stubborness and the endless fueds (never forgetting--lol!) but blood being thicker than water when push comes to shove. Would definitely not be everyone's cup of tea for sure, but I thought it was a hoot. Even found that sad Scandinavian humor in the ending.

  10. Take it easy...your body is trying to tell you to slow down for now.

Love the melted snow on the beautiful red cap.

  11. I know this is killing you to sit on the sidelines. I am glad your listened to your body though. I'm like some of the others. Are you going to get the injury looked at?

  12. I don't think you need your injury looked at.You know what it is, what caused it. You're joyful regardless.

  14. Please take care of yourself, DJan. I've been rather busy so I need to catch up on how you've injured yourself.
