Another rainy Saturday

Mt. Baker and the Nooksack River
This magnificent picture was taken from inside the car on our way back from the lovely day we had last Thursday in the mountains. I needed to look at it, since this morning was the exact opposite: I listened to the rain and wind all night long and got up to torrential weather to begin my day. And the morning walk with the ladies (and one man) was pretty much all in the rain. I got my first real test of my new rain jacket, which worked just fine. There were nineteen of us, even with the not-so-wonderful weather.

I'm home now, though, nice and dry and getting ready to watch a special on Netflix my sister recommended by Dana Carvey. And I've got a couple books to see if I can lose myself in, so I can somehow get through the next three days without a meltdown.
:-)

  1. That's a beautiful view !
We would welcome any rain you can afford to send our way, almost six weeks have passed without a drop.
    Your rain jacket sounds ideal.

  2. I can't imagine you melting down. And hope you find comfort on the screen and in your books.
    Love that photo.

  3. I'm laughing at your meltdown comment. As much as I want to feel confident, I have an underlying sense of anxiety too. The political news is just insufferable. And now we have a renewed kerfuffle about the Starbucks Holiday cups!

It will be Nov 8 before we know it. Then we'll know and the pre-election angst will be over.

  12. Great photo of Mt Baker! Good for you for getting out despite the rain! I hiked in the Gorge today and although I got wet, had a fabulous time.

  15. I was wondering how the new coat was doing. Glad it held up.
Think a good walk in the rain might be beneficial to us all about now to wash away all the crud we have had to carry around. Nov. 9th please hurry.
