Chase as Maleficent barista |
I sure had a good time going about my usual daily routine on Halloween. My first stop was at the coffee shop, where Chase had a good Maleficent costume going. He said that one youngster thought he was dressed as a yak. Somebody who didn't see the movie, obviously.

Les sporting some spider earrings |
Then off to my exercise class, where Les was wearing some cool earrings for the occasion. Unfortunately, nobody else was dressed up. I looked to see if he had pierced earlobes from an earlier incarnation as a hippie, but no, these are the clip-on kind. I remember how painful they were (are).
Another one of my friends asked if I liked her costume, which was, she said, the attire of an old woman. I liked that idea so much that I used it myself. And then last night I was all ready for the few trick-or-treaters we usually get, but not one showed up. I was forced to sample the wares myself and will use the rest for treats on my upcoming hikes. Hope you had a great Halloween!
:-)
We have never gotten a Halloweener in the 26 years we've lived on the mountain! However, a new family with a little boy recently moved nearby, so I felt the need to get a few treats just in case. Maybe my grands can eat them...if I don't.
ReplyDeleteThe men were in the spirit! Good on them! We had over one hundred trick or treaters though less han we normally have due to the weather. We had rain and drizzle.
ReplyDeleteClip ons hurt like the very devil don't they? Or aren't secure.
ReplyDeleteLove your barista's garb.
No-one came here either. The treats will stay in the cupboard until himself returns. Really they will.
I was so bummed. I expected LOTS of trick or treaters - so much so that I bought 5 HUGE bags of candy. We only had five of them show up. I guess the folks at the office will get to enjoy the treats.
ReplyDeleteLove the Maleficent costume! Just looking at the clip on earrings made my ears hurt.
Love those earrings, though I have pierced earrings. No one showed up at our place.
ReplyDeleteThere are always some people who do extremely well with costumes. I envy them.
ReplyDeleteNo youngsters here either. A quiet evening.
ReplyDeleteSince we are on the island, we did not "celebrate" Halloween, but that's OK. We are getting done what needs to be done, and we have candy, because, well, just in case?
ReplyDeleteYou too? We also had no trick or treaters. My daughter in Illinois said she's still got 4 bags of candy left. There just weren't many trick or treaters this year. I wonder why. I love the Maleficent horns. He's got the spirit.
ReplyDeleteI still have some of those awful clip on earrings...they are torture! I dressed like an old lady too:)
ReplyDeleteLove your barista's costume! I had one of my traffic engineer co-workers dress up as a "flashing yellow arrow." She wore a trench coat and when she opened it she had a yellow arrow on her stomach (with clothes on under the coat of course!)
ReplyDeleteI'm another one who dressed like an old lady--LOL! I handed out candy at McFamily's because I don't get any trick or treaters at my apartment. They had close to 60 of them! Was fun to hand out candy this year. Leah always has alternatives to candy, too, and almost half the kids picked a glow stick instead. :)
ReplyDeleteChase looks delightfully evil. I live so far out that I don't get any littlies. Darn.
ReplyDeleteIt was super quiet here too, with less than 20 kids showing up. Usually more like 50-60.
ReplyDeleteWe had only FOUR.
ReplyDeleteI loved Chases 'look'.
ha,ha love the spider earrings on Les. Too funny. We had 89 kids and of course GROOT walked up our street, protecting a group of halloween haunters as they came for treats. Too Kool.
ReplyDeleteNo trick or treaters here either as our neighborhood has changed from lots of kids to just us old folks....
ReplyDeleteWe only got a handful of trick or treaters this year...love seeing the really little kids!
