Pumpkins! |
I've been plowing my way through several books, some of which come from the library after I placed a hold on them awhile back. Then I forget what little I knew about the book. Once it shows up, I end up with one more to read than I am comfortable with. Having three or four books going at once is becoming a habit. But no matter: when it's raining outside, curling up in my easy chair with a good book is preferable to just about anything else.
The weather has definitely ushered in a new season, and I'm looking forward to that mythical Indian Summer that will hopefully show up just in time for a lovely trip to the mountains. However, it's possible I've made my last foray up there for the year. We'll see. In any event, I am enjoying the partly sunny days we've had lately, in between the rain. Hope the weather wherever you are is to your liking.
:-)
It seems that the demise of September has surprised a bunch of us across the blog-o-sphere. We are all asking, "Where did it go?!"
ReplyDeleteI just came in from sitting in the sun on the patio for an hour, reading and sometimes visited by Charlie, the Borrowed Cat. I had a haircut appointment earlier this afternoon and then decided to be lazy the rest of the day. I don't know when it will be balmy enough to just sit on the patio again for a while, so I thought I should take advantage of it while I could. I think we did get cheated with our September this year. It would be nice to get some Indian summer.
ReplyDeleteSoon we will be off to Irene's soccer match. It will be Subway sandwiches on the sidelines for supper this evening, thankful for another evening without rain.
This whole year has been rushing past. I have no idea where it has gone.
ReplyDeleteI always have several books 'on the go' at once, and have done for many years now.
We are in balmy spring sunshine (at the moment) but desperately, desperately need rain.
September was way wetter than average thanks to Dorian. It’s turned cold now too. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteGreat pile of pumkins!
ReplyDeleteIt is cold here, that snow that hit Montana and Canada might be rain when it gets here. It rains almost everyday. :)
ReplyDeleteSept. seemed to go by very rapidly. I hope we get more than Indian summer.
ReplyDeleteLook at all those pumpkins! How cool!
ReplyDeleteThe calendar says October, but our ungodly heat is still in the nineties....phew.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all those pumpkins, they epitomize Fall.
Hugs,
~Jo
Our Sept was one hot month we won't get a break till next week. I am so ready.
ReplyDeleteOrange is my favorite color so that pile of pumpkins was a welcome sight.
Yay! October! Hopefully, we Texans will finally get some relief. There is a predicted cold front heading our way next week. I'm ready for it. What books are you reading?
ReplyDeleteI think we may have had our 5-6 days of Indian summer already where it warmed up briefly. Hard to tell through all the rain--LOL! ;)
ReplyDeleteOur October has started cool and unsettled.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that you read a lot, as it helps ward off dementia.
ReplyDeleteDJan, I love the pumpkins too. And looking forward to some Fall weather...
ReplyDeleteLove the pumpkin pic! I love reading and always have a book or two cued up to read.
ReplyDeleteSend some of that rain my way! It's very dry here in CO. Hope you get some sunshine soon. I know - September rushed by way too quickly.
ReplyDeleteAaaahhhh.... yes! I'd forgotten all about those Indian Summers. I wonder why it's called that. I always hoped for it.
