Park Butte last Thursday |
I took this picture last week on our hike, but it sort of looks like the outdoors here in Bellingham this Saturday morning. When I went out earlier for the walk with the ladies, it hadn't started raining yet, but once it started, it kept up all through the hour-and-a-half walk. I was prepared with my new rain hat and a light raincoat, so it wasn't bad at all, although that's partly because it's warm and not windy. When that happens, it's pretty miserable to be wet. But we were all just fine, if a bit on the drippy side at the end.

Quite a project to move all that stuff |
Our apartment neighbor to the south is moving out. There is a little pathway through her things (for us), and this has been going on for pretty much a week. She brings stuff out, packs it into her car and repeats the process again and again. I knew she was a bit of a pack rat and really doesn't like to throw anything away, but now it all needs to be moved. I'm so glad it's not me having to sort through all that stuff. It's important to her, though. I have commiserated with her plight, but I don't think she would be happy to have me help. Anyhow, I really will miss her, since she's quiet and has been a good neighbor.
I'm going to the movies with my friend Judy, and I just got a notice that it's time to get ready to leave. We're going to see
Grandma with Lily Tomlin. See you later!
:-)
oh, the collections o' stuff! eek! :) jealous of your rains, but i know you need it, too!
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the movies.
ReplyDeleteAnd cringing at the stuff. It would be like that (or worse) if we were to move.
Hope you get a good neighbor...calm and quiet! Looks like she is a collector of fabulous stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes! That's a lot of baggage to haul along from one place to the next. I always feel better lightening our load. Even though we live in a fairly large house, there are seven of us (plus dog makes 8) and it just feels good to have less in the way. When I see photos like that, it spurs me to pare down even more. :) Considering having to move everything is great inspiration for me to not bring more "stuff" in.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall day here in MN, perfect actually, yet I'm under the weather. I seem to have been hit by an upper respiratory bug, rare for me.
I've had time to read though, and just finished The Rosie Project. I came upon it the other day and remembered your mention of it. I so enjoyed it!!
Moving gives one the opportunity to sort and save or sort and donate/share.
ReplyDeleteThis lady has a lot of things....and I wish her well on her move and in her new place.
The photo of the peak with the rain is a lovely photo. I always enjoy your photographs, Jan.
When you're prepared for rain, walking in the rain is pleasant. I haven't moved since 1970. I don't plan to move in the near future. I will be dreading a move.
ReplyDeleteWalking in the rain can be quite lovely.. though it's been a while since I've opted to do so. I hope your new neighbour is every bit as pleasant to live near.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you, sweet bloggie friend, for your kind and encouraging words. You never fail to make me smile. And that's quite a gift.
Report back on Grandma! Lily is wonderful in just about everything.
ReplyDeleteThe rain all went to the north today, skipping us here south of Seattle. It was dry for our attending Irene's 9:30 soccer game this morning, plant shopping on the way home, some work outside this afternoon and the attending Isaac's soccer game at 5:00. We recorded the Sounders match from 4;00 in Vancouver and watched it this evening. We won two out of three: victories for Irene's Mud Dogs and the Sounders, a lopsided loss for Isaac's Green Dragons.
ReplyDeletePlease share your reaction to the movie. I read a review of it yesterday and it sounded good.
I feel sorry for your neighbor. I gather she does not have a husband to help her, which is rather sad.
ReplyDeleteDo report on Grandma... as I've not heard of it. And we sure could use the rain these days.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are losing a good neighbor. Hope your new one is as nice.
ReplyDeleteLet us know about Grandma. I like Lily and just saw Sam Elliot is in it also. Sam can make my 76 year old knees weak. Should be a good one.
Oh, that sounds like a good movie! I have it in my Netflix save list. You'll have to let us know if you like it.
ReplyDeleteThat could be me next door--quiet packrat--but it's all important to me--LOL! ;)
I just went to an estate sale of a relative. So much stuff. A lifetime's worth. Good luck on the new neighbor front.
ReplyDeleteJust the word “moving” makes me hyper-ventilate! We have had barely any rain this last ten days, but maybe tomorrow morning… I like the rain when I can listen to it while being inside reading a good book! I always admire you for going out walking in all weather.
ReplyDelete"Love a rainy day. Love a rainy" With your specifications..:)
ReplyDeleteShe does have a lot of stuff. I cringe to think how much stuff we have too since Art hates to throw out stuff that he might be able to use later. I'm glad you enjoyed Grandma. The reviews seemed to be very good on it.
