Laptop and everything within reach |
First of all, it shows that everything I want is within easy reach: my laptop resides on the white platform to the left when not needed. Sometimes I like the warmth of the laptop as I catch up on the news of the world and what my blogging friends are up to. I am pointed towards the TV when I feel like watching, and the sunlight on my right shoulder comes from the front window, where I peer out at the comings and goings of my neighbors.
And then there's the fuzzy blanket that I wrap myself in when I feel like it. The only strange part of the picture is that senior citizen. It's not how I think of myself at all; the white hair and the wrinkles are usually only visible to me when I look in the mirror. Or in a snapshot like this one.
I'm not complaining, really. My life is filled with adventure and activity, and it makes my favorite chair, my chosen spot, the place to reap some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Do you have a favorite spot?
:-)
I have a favorite chair by the french doors leading out to the balcony. Lots of reading, writing and thinking happen there with the sun on my shoulders in the winter. I've just picked a favorite spot at my daughter's in the cross breeze between the open front door and a double window. I'll be paying catch up with blogging friends from there!
ReplyDeleteI spend a lot of time in front of my desk top computer and also on the reclining sofa. I am very comfortable in both spots. Lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very cozy spot you have there! I had several favorite spots (depending on the time of year) at my old house. I'm still picking my way around this new place trying to find a favorite. I have a feeling it'll be in my "closet" cuddled up on my chair.
ReplyDeletedepends on the time of day. i snuggle up on the loveseat in front of the tv with a glass of ice water, a mug of hot green tea, and a woven throw over my legs while the pups sleep on beds and their couch in the living room. i use my laptop in my office next to my drawing table that has a view out to the feeder tree.
ReplyDeletei am often startled by the aging face that looks back at me these days. i feel 38, not 50.
You look so content, with the comfort of your home, and the world at your fingertips !
ReplyDeleteGreat shot DJan.

you def deserve that comfy spot...smiles...having everything within reach is not a bad thing either...you do live a rather adventurous life...i have a favorite spot as well to sit when i write...smiles.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that photo I had to smile right away because you looked so cozy. I love your beautiful silver hair, DJan! In fact I'm envious. My hair can't make up its mind. Your fuzzy blanket shows the warmth of your home and life too.
ReplyDeleteSenior citizen? Where? (Age is a state of mind, not a number.)
ReplyDeleteLove your blogging space. Mine is at a big old desk, surrounded by books and papers. Not nearly as comfy as your spot. A throwback to my life as a free-lance writer.
I hope you continue to have fun in that spot.
Blessings and Bear hugs.
First of all, your hair colour is quite beautiful. And with that said, my first thought when I saw the photo was that I'll bet it surprises her to see her hair colour in images like this. Funny how that came to me. It was exactly because you have the mind, stamina, shape, spirit and face of a much younger woman. Much like Theresa said in her comment, my own reflection taunts me.. silly old thing doesn't realize I'm still a young puppy. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a half finished blogpost sitting in draft form entitled My Kingdom. My chair has my laptop, the book I'm reading, my phone, nail file, the tv remote, my heating pad, my basket of knitting, my magazines, my glass of water, a view of the backyard. I can appreciate your space. Simple and complete.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a cozy spot to me! I like my spot at the desk, I can see the TV and look out at the snow:)
ReplyDeleteYour spot looks very cozy, By the way, I don't see any senior citizens in this photo.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite spots vary but this time of the year it is the sofa in front of the fireplace with a cat or two or more snuggled up beside me as I either do things on my tablet or watch TV.
I don't see a single wrinkle in this photo! What I see is a contended woman, in the flow of life.
ReplyDeleteNothing like keeping things handy.
ReplyDeleteI write a comment from my favorite spot…which is much the same as yours. My laptop and I-pad are handy. The end table next to me has a drawer with everything I might possibly need. In fact, I've hardly moved all day! Life is good!
ReplyDeleteI'll agree with that - mine is a cozy chair by the window where I can watch a movie, read a good book, have lunch or a cuppa. This morning I am sitting here with a cuppa and watching the sunrise. Aaaaah DJan, I feel the cozy spirit too. Have a good one :)
ReplyDeleteI don't see any senior citizens, just an amazing adventurer
ReplyDeletehugs from me and the girls
I think your silver hair is outstanding and I envy how carefree it must be. It always looks so nice. There is a lot to enjoy in your favorite spot in your world. I like those warm laptops too. When I retired, my coworkers gave me a beautiful throw with a book theme. It is so nice, I don't want to use it. I use an older fleece throw that survives the washer often. My favorite spot is at my desk with my computer overlooking my hillside with the street, trees and houses with busy driveways to watch. My window on the world is a snow-covered hillside today.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite relaxing spot is in my bed, propped up by pillows with my dogs snoozing next to me. I spend hours there every Sunday morning reading the paper, drinking coffee and catching up on blog reading. In fact, that's where I am right now!
ReplyDeleteFunny! I was just thinking how much you don't look like a senior citizen. No lie!
ReplyDeleteI have a Sheldon spot. My recliner. And I have little tables filled with essentials on both sides, a throw on the back when I need extra warmth on these chilly days, a laptop table on wheels I can swing over to visit you right now, and often a cat snoozing between my legs. Ahhh! ;)
I agree, looks like a very cozy, comfy spot. I'm kinda weird, though. I do not like resting my laptop on my lap. I have to put it down and use it on a desk or table, which begs the question, why do I even have a laptop? I use it when I'm traveling, that's about all; otherwise, I stick with my desktop.
ReplyDeleteI have several: at the kitchen table where I have lunch and read the paper, with a view out across the yard; upstairs in our home office where I sit at the desk top computer, and in the family room in my recliner, where I have my lap top, face the big TV and where my kitty finds me.
ReplyDeleteI completely forget you have white hair!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed and it's much the same as yours. In my case, the blanket is hanging on the back of my chair, ready to grab when I feel cold. Other than that, everything handy, just like you. I think you look lovely sitting there.
ReplyDeleteYou ask my favorite spot? Right now, it's sitting at my computer monitor, viewing your photo and reading your thoughts!!! You're a natural DJan...and that is one of the points I like about you.
ReplyDeleteNot that you're pointy!!
It's not in my house. A warm beach. Preferably in Costa Rica!
