Several blogging buddies have been getting into the spirit by listing things they love. I decided to make a list of some of the things that make me happy:
- Smart Guy. Sharing my life, everything that matters to me, with another person who listens and supports me makes me very grateful to have found him.
- Living here in the Pacific Northwest, where the mountains and the sea come together.
- A community that supports its seniors by having a great bus system and the Center for Senior Health.
- A warm, safe place to come home to, a rented apartment where when something goes wrong, somebody else has to fix it, not me.
- My birds. I feed them and they entertain me. I especially enjoy seeing my little sparrow with the broken wing, who flies just as well as the others. He comes by every day.
- The friends I've made here. Sometimes I think about those I left behind in Boulder, but mostly I'm grateful for all the wonderful people I get to hike and work out with every day.
- Great veggies and other good food healthily prepared by Smart Guy.
- My children. Even though they are both gone now, they are still in my heart and I believe one day when I pass over to the other side, we will be together again.
- My family. My siblings are very precious to me, and two of them even read my blog on a regular basis! All of them, however long it's been since I've seen them, add to my blessings.
- And how could I forget my blogging friends? You light up my life, every single day, when I read what you have written and rejoice in our diversity.
:-)
That's a very nice list of things that make you happy. We also live in an apartment in the Pacific Northwest and love it. The best decision we've made in life was to move from Texas to the PNW. Living here makes me very happy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list. Having spent 5 days in Seattle area last fall, I agree. You live in a beautiful part of the country.
ReplyDeleteYour list is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your list, DJ. Your list made me happy and made me think of other things that make me happy. If I have time tomorrow I'll post my own list. What a great idea for Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteBTW - Your banner picture is so neat, with you holding a bird and that background is beautiful.
That is a wonderful list. I really enjoyed reading it. When it comes down to it - it is the simple things in life that are important.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing DJan. It is a lovely list written by someone who appreciates the important things in life. You've inspired me to do my own list. I'll post on Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic at the top of your blog!
What makes me happy right this minute? Looking at your new banner picture!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful list DJan, this is a perfect time of the year to count our blessings. I have lived in many parts of the country but the PNW is the best. I too love your new header, it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great new header shot! I have that song,"You light up my life" going through my head now.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me happy is reading your blog every day. It always makes me feel connected to you.
ReplyDeleteI am also happy with my "new" life, my husband, my little dog, my children and my siblings.
What a great list! If I have the time today I just might write one myself. And I got one of those hot stone massages a few years back as well, and, like you, I didn't feel as energized as I usually do afterwards, but I sure was relaxed :)
ReplyDeleteLaughter and good friends make me happy. I know the value of them after I kept them at arms length whilst I was ill. And yes, blogging friends are superb when they take the time to leave great comments. But my most recent discovery is art - we are delving into studying many of the great artists and finding it a complete joy. Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteA great idea and a wonderful list D-Jan. Now what could I put on mine? Must give that some thought.
ReplyDeleteYour header is beautiful.
Blessings, Star
Great list. I have far too many blessings to list here. I, too, love pink! And you know how I feel about the big V day...
