Ten brave wet hikers (Mel took the picture) |
At first I thought I'd skip the 8:00am group and go with the relaxed group at 9:00am, but somehow I just couldn't get my head around it at all, and so I left for the Y to get a bit of time in the workout room. I knew I'd miss my step count today, but it still didn't motivate me.
Melanie went with the 9:00am crowd and sent me this picture of their lovely group, which headed up the Pine and Cedar trail, deciding to skip going to Raptor Ridge but still getting out. As you can see from the snapshot, it was quite drizzly and never let up. Now, however, at noon, I see that it's beginning to change over to "showers" from "rain" on the weather app. Too bad, I'm inside and happy to have escaped the fun my friends obviously had.

Sometimes, we're just not up for the struggle.
ReplyDeleteWimp is the last word I would use to describe you. Cut yourself a bit of slack and enjoy your mostly dry day. And send the moisture this way.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call it wimping out. I would say you just weren't feeling it today. And who knows - it may have been meant to be.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others.
ReplyDeleteHeck, D J, I think you made a good choice for YOU. It matters not where you go, or how many steps you take, there's always another day.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that DJan would cop out - but I don't blame you!
ReplyDeleteIt's supposed to be fun, remember? So if it isn't, do something else, just as you decided to do today.
ReplyDeleteI rode my stationary bike in the garage today. This constant rain is depressing.
Some times we have to look at reality and say do we have to be a hero and always do the tough stuff even if it has risk?
ReplyDeleteYou weren’t too old last week for all of that walking, Jan. Give yourself a break! You needed one this week.
ReplyDeleteHey, you still got your exercise. I agree, you made the right choice.
ReplyDeleteWell, you made an excellent decision. Who wants to catch a cold in that weather? No thank you.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Linda, this should be at least a little fun. Now if you just did nothing but sit on a couch then maybe but you went to the Y to work out. You made a (I think smart) choice and hopefully the endless rain will end, at least so you can get out again.
ReplyDeleteYou have always been so hardy and had so much stamina, you amaze me. Even getting dressed and going out in your weather would have been more than I could have accomplished so you should get a pat on the back for getting to see your group before their hike.
ReplyDeleteI am a fair weather walker, and I mean FAIR weather. Not too hot, not too cold, and NO wind. Goldilocks day!
Hope you are feeling okay...your sorts must be out. You never pass up a hike...well rarely. You could walk in circles around your patio! Far Guy walks circles in the house:)
ReplyDeleteThey do look cold and wet, though. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh gracious! I wouldn’t go out in that either. I’m always amazed at how far you walk. I have to do the 8 mile walk next week and not looking forward to it, but you go 10 with no problem.
