Rainy out there right now

My pretty snapdragons
I took this picture of my lovely ruby-red snapdragon a couple of days ago, and I have to say I am truly in love with it. I want to enjoy every bit of eye candy it provides me before it's all over. Since it's raining right now, and I hadn't seen it for a couple of days, I went out to get an up-to-the-minute shot.
Just now, in light rain
Here it is right now. It's so pretty. You can also see my beans behind it, as well as the fennel, which seems to be going a little crazy. I also took a quick peek at the raspberries and they are ready for another harvest, but that will wait until it dries out a little.

It didn't rain while we ladies walked this morning, but started right as we were getting ready to leave. I headed over, nevertheless, to City Hall, where there was a rally to support immigration reform, specifically to protest the separation of children from their parents. It was a good turnout, since we Pacific Northwesterners never let a little thing like rain keep us away. I guess there are gatherings in many towns and cities this weekend. I wanted to be a part of it.

Now I'm back home and pondering just what to do with that magnificent fennel, which is definitely beginning to take over. My hiking friends gave me some good ideas and once I get on the internet, I'm sure I'll find just the right thing!
:-)

  4. The colour of the snapdragon is unusual and a delight to see. Pleased to hear of so many people showing how they feel about the separation of children from their parents.

  5. I just juiced fennel in our daily drink. It goes well with kale and beets.

  6. I have no advice on the use of fennel.
We had thousands turn out here at the SeaTac detention center, but Tom and I went the other way, into the city for a Sounders match. I'm glad it was a good turn out. It generated lots of mean spirited comments on Facebook, however. We are so divided on so many things, and meanness is rampant. I get discouraged.

  8. Ruby red for sure. Fennel tea is very relaxing and it can also go in curries.
