I object to the fact that sometimes I can't get what I want in the shops, i.e. ordinary food. I want to be the judge of what goes in my mouth. I don't like other people telling me what is good for me and what is not.
The bread in your picture looks wonderfully gooey and I love the row of red hats, i.e. children.
Blessings, StarStella Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06699491230987143490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6050996142546962834.post-60341935826384017852009-10-22T00:40:07.808-07:002009-10-22T00:40:07.808-07:00This book sounds so interesting. We love GHBC, but hubby is starting to bake our own bread again. Healthier, less expensive, and heavenly to smell. We are going more veggie, local when we can, and organic if we have a choice.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13178290697351352495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6050996142546962834.post-51223149118219831372009-10-21T22:14:42.142-07:002009-10-21T22:14:42.142-07:00Ahem...May I know who is the guy in blue shirt? I talked to THE nicest woman who told me they have a personal relationship with ALL their growers and sign contracts stating they will only buy non-GMO grains. Isn't that awesome?! AND they are coming on board at 30 Day Throw Down as sponsors of two giveaways! They will ship from the nearest baker to your door if you aren't near a bakery. Could they BE any nicer? I'm so jazzed right now you have no idea. :) Well, maybe you do! She presents, perhaps, a different approach. Her concern is eating in an ethical way.. and the reasons we should.

I have enjoyed the book very much but also plan on having a look at Pollan's book. They said the FDA didn't have the resources to double check product labels for accuracy. So there you go! Even if you read labels of products, trying to be healthy, they can be wrong. Back to the farm to eat all natural, unprocessed foods is the best bet...but for some people, they don't have these resources available where they live...The Retired Onehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02466803019073952351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6050996142546962834.post-75095934255841978572009-10-21T14:14:46.981-07:002009-10-21T14:14:46.981-07:00I guess, Robynn, that every GHBC is different, bec...I guess, Robynn, that every GHBC is different, because we do have the organic choice. We have a Great Harvest Bread Company here, too, but they say they don't have any organic choices. I LOVE their bread but, uh, YOU know. Is it different in your area? Do you know if they use flours from non-GMO sources? I think I'll call them right now and try and answer my own question! THANK YOU for bringing this to mind! :) Oh, and I answered YOUR question over on the 30 Day Throw Down blog.Robynn's Ravingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02619286823020924023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6050996142546962834.post-47107679949161312292009-10-21T13:26:30.348-07:002009-10-21T13:26:30.348-07:00We would be surprised if we knew all the things th...We would be surprised if we knew all the things that are bad for us. The stores just keep expanding and growing with unhealthy foods too. You are lucky to have a food co-op near you.
