Sitting in the airport

View from my seat at the gate
Well, this will be just a quick post while I wait for a chance to board my flight. It looks like it will be on time. I had some problems getting through the security check. My Vitamin C powder, which I have traveled with for years, was confiscated! He said it tested positive for explosives. Then I had to strip down and be completely patted down, while my bag was torn apart.

They didn't find anything, of course, but I'll be heading to the health food store to get some vitamin C. Maybe I'll just get it in capsules this time. I'll miss that little bottle I've been carrying it in for a decade. Oh well, now as long as the flight is a good one, I'll soon be in the hands of my capable sister and nephew! I can't wait to see the dogs.

Only a few more minutes before we begin to board. My morning so far, other than the security line, has been a good one. The skies are clear and it's cold outside. Yesterday it reached 90 degrees at my sister's house!
:-)

  1. I had that happen to me a couple of years ago - They confiscated a favorite, expensive body lotion I had. They don't make it any more so I can't replace it.

    Safe travels.

  10. Explosives??? That is scary and hope he was wrong. Might want to get your powder analysed. Might be something not good for you in there. So glad you are on your way for a great week. Have a blast.

  11. Oh my gosh! You just don't fit that terrorist image :-)

That airport photo makes me realize how all airports look alike.

  13. That's not a fun way to start a flight. they are pretty unreasonable when something doesn't look right.

  14. By now you are tucked away in bed in Florida!
Explosive powder, huh. Can't imagine Vit C earning a strip search. Good grief!

  15. Contains explosives? Ahhhhh, come on. We all KNOW he/she needed another bottle of it for himself. Cheaper that way.

    Enjoy your time with sister.

  17. Wow, if your Vit C powder is explosive, I wouldn't stand too close to a fire, DJan... I have to say that I love to fly, but dread the hassle at the airport - although the security part is necessary these days. Just caught up on your posts through Thanksgiving... and Happy Belated Thanksgiving! Your Thanksgiving dinner looked very healthy!

  20. It would be very interesting to know how they got that reading on your Vit C powder. You wonder if it tested positive for "explosives" that they even left you on the plane. Thank goodness they did! Have fun.

  23. I just cannot imagine myself stripping down for some foul faced stranger to stare at you. Lord, what has this world come to. I prefer to drive everywhere and if I cannot drive, then I do not go. I am still touring the east coast of Canada, for I did everything else world wide, when the world of travel was a saner place. YOU, of all people ----the last time my Mum flew going through the airport in a wheel chair, they strip searched her too. Imagine an 81 year old great Nanny, because she put the wrong pills in her travel pack without the proper label. Anyway, DJan, you got past that, have a lovely holiday with your family.

  24. Wow, a strip down search for vitamin C powder? What's it going to be like under Trump?

    Happy travels going forward!
